Chemical Properties

PHANTOLIDE is a synthetic musk fragrance. It is prepared by Friedel–Crafts acetylation of 1,1,2,3,3,5-hexamethylindane, which can be obtained as a 70 : 30 mixture with 1,1,3,5-tetramethyl-3-ethylindane by reacting ??,p-dimethylstyrene with amylenes or 2-methyl-2-butanol in a mixture of acetic acid and concentrated sulfuric acid: The indane ketone is a musk fragrance that is stable in light and soaps. It is used in perfumes and cosmetics for its fixative properties as well as its fragrance.

Uses

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 15323-35-0 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 1,5,3,2 and 3 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 3 and 5 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 15323-35:
(7*1)+(6*5)+(5*3)+(4*2)+(3*3)+(2*3)+(1*5)=80
80 % 10 = 0
So 15323-35-0 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Synthesis and odor properties of PHANTOLIDE (cas 15323-35-0) analogues08/07/2019

Phantolide analogues 1a–1d were newly synthesized to evaluate their odor profiles. The enantiomers of 1a and 1b were also synthesized. Both (S) enantiomers of 1a and 1b had musk odor although weakly, and but neither of the (R) enantiomers 1a and 1b had musk odor. During the investigations, we e...detailed

PERFUME COMPOSITIONS

-

, (2011/08/06)

Perfume ingredients have been investigated and classified for their effectiveness in detaching biofilms from surfaces. Based on this classification, perfume compositions that are effective in assisting biofilm detachment can be formulated, whilst also allowing a degree of freedom in formulation that permits consideration of the hedonic properties of the composition. The compositions can be used in a wide range of perfumed consumer products, such as personal, domestic and industrial products, e.g. hard surface cleaning products, dental care products, and deodorant products.

Process for the production of compounds useful in perfumery

-

, (2008/06/13)

Process for producing compounds useful in perfumery including isochromans and acylated indane hydrocarbons with an alkylene oxide or with a lower acyl halide in the presence of a hydrocarbon or hydrocarbon mixture containing C5 to C10 alkanes at a temperature of from -20° C. up to -5° C. In the case of forming isochromans, the resulting alcohol is reacted, in situ, with a lower alkanol and a formaldehyde precursor at temperatures of from 20° C. up to 80° C.
