General Description
2,6-dimethylpyridine-3,5-dicarbohydrazide, also known as DPDH, is a chemical compound with the molecular formula C9H13N5O2. It is a derivative of pyridine and hydrazine and is commonly used as a corrosion inhibitor in water treatment applications. DPDH has the ability to form a protective film on metal surfaces, preventing corrosion and extending the lifespan of equipment. It is also used as a component in the production of pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals. DPDH is a white to off white crystalline powder and is typically synthesized through a multistep process involving the condensation of 2,6-dimethylpyridine-3,5-dicarboxylic acid with hydrazine hydrate. As with any chemical compound, it is important to handle DPDH with care and follow proper safety precautions in its storage and use.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 15420-54-9 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 1,5,4,2 and 0 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 5 and 4 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 15420-54:
(7*1)+(6*5)+(5*4)+(4*2)+(3*0)+(2*5)+(1*4)=79
79 % 10 = 9
So 15420-54-9 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Study of the acylation reaction of 2,6-dimethyl-3,5-pyridinedicarboxylic acid hydrazides

, p. 1511 - 1520 (2007/10/03)
Acylation of 3-ethoxycarbonyl-2,6-dimethyl-5-pyridinecarboxylic acid hydrazide and 2,6-dimethyl-3,5-pyridinedicarboxylic acid dihydrazide using aromatic acid chlorides gave the corresponding N-aroyl hydrazides. It was found that the hydrazinolysis of 3-ethoxycarbonyl-2,6-dimethyl-5-pyridine-dicarboxylic acid N-aroyl hydrazides occurred not at the ester group but as a rehydrazinolysis reaction at the dihydrazide fragment. 2005 Springer Science+Business Media, Inc.
