Preparative methods are proposed for the production of 5-brexanone and the acetates of 2-brendanol and 2-noradamantanol from cis-bicyclonona-3,7-diene.Dehydration of 5-brexanol and 2-brendanol gave 4-brexene and deltacyclane respectively.The (13)C NMR spectra of the compounds of the noradamantane, brexane, brendane, and deltacyclane series were studied.
