(E)-2-Methyl-6-phenylimidazo[2,1-b]-1,3,4-thiadiazole-5-carboxaldehyde dimethylaminoacetohydrazone was synthesized and its configuration determined. The diuretic activity of this compound, evaluated in rats in a dosage range of 2.5, 10 and 40 mg/kg, was higher than that of the reference compounds hydrochlorothiazide and furosemide.
