A convenient one-pot reaction was conducted by mixing bromoacetophenone, a functionalized α,β-unsaturated ketone and potassium hydroxide in tetrahydrofuran at room temperature, ammonium acetate was added and heated to reflux, resulting in four chemical bonds forming from easily accessible substrates.
