Amido-alcohol 4, derived from cyclopentadiene and resolved using Candida antarctica lipase B-mediated transacetylation, was transformed to (2R,3R)-3-hydroxy-2-hydroxymethylpyrrolidine (2) and (2S,3R)-3-hydroxyproline (1).
