A reaction between N-(trimethylsilyl)-N,N′-dimethyl-p-toluamidine and TiCl4 in CH2Cl2 produces (N,N′-dimethyl-p-toluamidinato)trichlorotitanium, which is formulated as a dimer with two chloro bridges. The new complex is moderately active in the polymerization of both styrene and ethylene when activated with methylaluminoxane.
