Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 162301-46-4 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 1,6,2,3,0 and 1 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 4 and 6 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 162301-46:
(8*1)+(7*6)+(6*2)+(5*3)+(4*0)+(3*1)+(2*4)+(1*6)=94
94 % 10 = 4
So 162301-46-4 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Selectivity of calix[4]arene-crown-6 for cesium ion in ISE: Effect of the conformation

Bocchi, Carlo,Careri, Maria,Casnati, Alessandro,Mori, Giovanni

, p. 4234 - 4238 (1995)

A new series of calix-crowns were used in ion-selective electrodes with two solvents (dibutyl sebacate and o-nitrophenyl octyl ether). As ionophores, the 1,3-dimethoxy and the three different conformers of the 1,3-diisopropoxycalix[4]arene-crown-6 (i.e., 1,3-alternate, partial cone, and cone) were considered. Their behavior toward cesium ion was studied in terms of detection limit (DL), sensitivity (S, mV/pCs), and selectivity toward protons, ammonium, alkali, and alkaline earth metal ions. The lowest DL value was obtained for membranes containing the 1,3-diisopropoxy derivative in the 1,3-alternate conformation. To correlate the analytical results with the structural properties of the ligand and with the nature of the polymeric membrane, a multifactor ANOVA with interactions was carried out on selectivities toward univalent and divalent ions. As for the alkali metal ions, a highly significant negative correlation (p CS/Mpot values and the ionic radius was found; in addition, for the smaller ions H+, Li+, and Na+, the four ionophores showed higher differences in selectivity than for the larger ions K+ and Rb+ as well as for alkaline earth metal ions. Better results than those previously reported with other ligands in terms of DL (5 × 10-7 M) and pKCs/Mpot (4.46) were found for the 1,3-diisopropoxycalix-[4]arene-crown-6 in the 1,3-alternate conformation.

Synthesis, complexation, and membrane transport studies of 1,3-alternate calix[4]arene-crown-6 conformers: A new class of cesium selective ionophores

, p. 2767 - 2777 (2007/10/02)

1,3-Dialkoxycalix[4]arene-crown-6 ionophores (4a-d) are obtained in the fixed 1,3-alternate conformation in 63-85% yield by the reaction of the corresponding 1,3-dialkoxycalix[4]arenes 3a-d with pentaethylene glycol ditosylate in CH3CN in the p
