Exo-trans-exo-pentacyclo<8.2.1.14,7.02,9.03,8>tetradecane-5,11-diene is a complex organic compound with a unique molecular structure. It consists of a pentacyclic ring system with a total of 14 carbon atoms, featuring two double bonds at the 5th and 11th positions. The compound's name reflects its structure, with "exo-trans-exo" indicating the relative positions of the double bonds and the overall shape of the molecule. This chemical is characterized by its highly branched and strained carbon framework, which can influence its physical and chemical properties, such as reactivity and stability. It is an example of a polycyclic hydrocarbon, which can be found in various natural products and synthetic compounds. Due to its complexity, exo-trans-exo-pentacyclo<8.2.1.14,7.02,9.03,8>tetradecane-5,11-diene is of interest in organic chemistry for studying the effects of ring strain and the synthesis of complex molecular architectures.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 1624-12-0 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 1,6,2 and 4 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 1 and 2 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 1624-12:
(6*1)+(5*6)+(4*2)+(3*4)+(2*1)+(1*2)=60
60 % 10 = 0
So 1624-12-0 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Catalytic syntheses of polycyclic compounds based on norbornadiene in the presence of nickel catalysts

Efros,Dmitriev,Flid

experimental part, p. 370 - 374 (2011/01/06)

Abstract-The cycloadditions of olefins containing an electron-withdrawing substituent to norbornadiene are reported. The influence of the substituent and solvent nature on the [2+2+2]-cycloadduct yield and ste- reoselectivity is elucidated. The competitive cycloaddition of pairs of olefins to norbornadiene is discussed. Hypotheses about the structure of key intermediates of the process are considered. The consistent generalized mechanism for the cycloaddition of unsaturated compounds of various classes to norbornadiene is suggested. Pleiades Publishing, Ltd., 2010.
