Uses
Used in Plastics Industry:
DI(ETHYLENE GLYCOL MONO-BUTYL ETHER) PHTHALATE is used as a plasticizer to increase the flexibility and durability of plastic materials, making them more resistant to wear and tear.
Used in Adhesives Industry:
DI(ETHYLENE GLYCOL MONO-BUTYL ETHER) PHTHALATE is used as a plasticizer in the production of adhesives to improve their flexibility and bonding properties.
Used in Paints and Coatings Industry:
DI(ETHYLENE GLYCOL MONO-BUTYL ETHER) PHTHALATE is used as a plasticizer in paints and coatings to enhance their durability and resistance to wear and tear.
However, due to concerns about its potential negative impact on human health and the environment, there is an ongoing effort to find alternative plasticizers that are safer and more environmentally friendly.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 16672-39-2 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 1,6,6,7 and 2 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 3 and 9 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 16672-39:
(7*1)+(6*6)+(5*6)+(4*7)+(3*2)+(2*3)+(1*9)=122
122 % 10 = 2
So 16672-39-2 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Synthesis and Characterization of Five Phthalate Phosphate, Borate, Phosphate-Borate, Polyglycol and Alkanol Esters as Bases Hydraulic Fluids
Houssamy, Sahar F. E.
, p. 155 - 174 (2007/10/03)
Phthalate esters of phosphate borate, phosphate-borate, polyglycol and 2-(2-butoxyethoxy ethanol were prepared with the aim of producing hydraulic base fluids. Physico-chemical investigations of the prepared esters were measured. Gas chromatography, infrared, nuclear magnetic resonance and mass spectrometry results confirm the structures of these compounds. The improvement in the specification of the ester bases may be achieved by the incorporation of the phthalic acid anhydride in the ester reaction. Thus providing hydraulic base fluids that are capable of being produced more economically and can monitor any pollution caused by fluid operations ensuring environments safeguard.
