Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 16675-51-7 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 1,6,6,7 and 5 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 5 and 1 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 16675-51:
(7*1)+(6*6)+(5*6)+(4*7)+(3*5)+(2*5)+(1*1)=127
127 % 10 = 7
So 16675-51-7 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Visible-Light-Induced Meerwein Fluoroarylation of Styrenes

Tang, Hai-Jun,Zhang, Bin,Xue, Fei,Feng, Chao

supporting information, p. 4040 - 4044 (2021/05/26)

An unprecedented approach for assembling a broad range of 1,2-diarylethane derivatives with fluorine-containing fully substituted carbon centers was developed. The protocol features straightforward operation, proceeds under metal-free condition, and accommodates a large variety of synthetically useful functionalities. The critical aspect to the success of this novel transformation lies in using aryldiazonium salts as both aryl radical progenitor and also as single electron acceptor which elegantly enables a radical-polar crossover manifold.

Recyclable and reusable PdCl2(PPh3)2/PEG-400/H2O system for the hydrophenylation of alkynes with sodium tetraphenylborate

Liu, Rong,Zhang, Tingli,Huang, Bin,Cai, Mingzhong

, p. 172 - 178 (2020/07/04)

A stable and efficient PdCl2(PPh3)2/PEG-400/H2O catalytic system for the hydrophenylation reaction of alkynes has been developed. In the presence of 3 mol% PdCl2(PPh3)2 and 2 equiv. of HOAc, the hydrophenylation of both terminal and internal alkynes with sodium tetraphenylborate proceeded smoothly in a mixture of PEG-400 and water at room temperature or 50 °C to afford a variety of phenyl-substituted alkenes in moderate to high yields. The isolation of the products was easily performed by extraction with petroleum ether, and the PdCl2(PPh3)2/PEG-400/H2O system could be readily recycled and reused six times without apparent loss of catalytic activity.

Bimolecular vinylation of arenes by vinyl cations

Bour, Christophe,Gandon, Vincent,Li, Zhilong

supporting information, p. 6507 - 6510 (2020/07/02)

Styrene derivatives can be easily synthesized from vinyl triflates and arenes under mild reaction conditions, using [Li][Al(OC(CF3)3)4] as a catalyst and LiHMDS as a base. This transformation is likely to involve a vinyl cation intermediate as an electrophile, which is corroborated by DFT calculations, deuterium-labeling and other control experiments. The use of an inert weakly coordinating anion is a decisive factor in this bimolecular vinylation process. This journal is

Mild Ring-Opening 1,3-Hydroborations of Non-Activated Cyclopropanes

Wang, Di,Xue, Xiao-Song,Houk, Kendall N.,Shi, Zhuangzhi

supporting information, p. 16861 - 16865 (2018/11/27)

The Brown hydroboration reaction, first reported in 1957, is the addition of B?H across an olefin in an anti-Markovnikov fashion. Here, we solved a long-standing problem on mild 1,3-hydroborations of non-activated cyclopropanes. A three-component system including cyclopropanes, boron halides, and hydrosilanes has been developed for borylative ring-opening of cyclopropanes following the anti-Markovnikov rule, under mild reaction conditions. Density functional theory (M06-2X) calculations show that the preferred pathway involves a cationic boron intermediate which is quenched by hydride transfer from the silane.

Electron-deficient olefin ligands enable generation of quaternary carbons by Ni-catalyzed cross-coupling

Huang, Chung-Yang,Doyle, Abigail G.

supporting information, p. 5638 - 5641 (2015/05/20)

A Ni-catalyzed Negishi cross-coupling with 1,1-disubstituted styrenyl aziridines has been developed. This method delivers valuable β-substituted phenethylamines via a challenging reductive elimination that affords a quaternary carbon. A novel electron-deficient olefin ligand, Fro-DO, proved crucial for achieving high rates and chemoselectivity for C-C bond formation over β-H elimination. This ligand is easy to access, is stable, and presents a modular framework for reaction discovery and optimization. We expect that these attributes, combined with the fact that the ligands impart distinct electronic properties to a metal, will support the invention of new transformations not previously possible using established ligands.

Palladium-catalyzed hydrophenylation of alkynes with sodium tetraphenylborate under mild conditions

Zeng, Hanxiang,Hua, Ruimao

, p. 558 - 562 (2008/09/17)

(Chemical Equation Presented) In an aqueous solution of acetic acid, PdCl2(PPh3)2 showed high catalytic activity for the hydrophenylation of both terminal and internal alkynes with sodium tetraphenylborate (NaBPh4) under mild conditions, affording phenyl alkenes in moderate to excellent yields.
