Acetylacetonato-Cγ complexes of stoichiometry γ)(N-N)> (M = Pd; X = F or Cl; N-N = 1,10-phenanthroline or 2,2'-bipyridine) (M = Pt; X = F; N-N = 1,10-phenanthroline (phen), or 2,2'-bipyridine (bipy)) have been obtained by treatment of the acetylacetonato-O,O' complexes (tht = tetrahydrothiophene) with the corresponding N-N base in 1/1 molar ratio.Complexes γ)(phen)> (1) and γ)(bipy)> (2) react with organic substrates containing acidic hydrogen atoms , yielding the corresponding complexes (R = CF3COO, CH3COO, PhCOO, PhS or P(S)Ph2).However, the reaction of 2 with HPPh2 affords the dinuclear phosphido-bridged complex 2>.All complexes have been characterized by spectroscopic methods (IR and 1H, 19F and 31PNMR) and the molecular structure of *CHCl3 (12) has been determined by X-ray diffraction methods.
