Reaction of substituted nitro-1,2,3-triazole-1-oxides with nucleophilic reagents (ammonia, primary aliphatic amines, sodium methoxide and azide) is studied. By the example of 2-methyl-4,5-dinitro-1,2,3-triazole-1-oxide it is shown that in all cases, except for sodium azide, only one nitro group is replaced, either in the forth or in the fifth position with the formation of the corresponding mononitrotriazole-1-oxides. The nitro group in mononitrotriazole-1-oxides is not replaced by nucleophile. The method of synthesis of hard accessible 5-substituted 2-methyl-4-nitro-1,2,3-triazole-1-oxides is developed.
