Synthesis and insecticidal activities of new organophosphorus pesticides containing heterocyclic nuclei

A series of O,O-dialkyl S-(4-aryl-3-mercapto-1,2,4-triazol-5-yl) methyl phosphorodithioate (25-42), and O,O-dialkyl S-(5-mercapto-1,3,4-oxadiazol-2-yl) methyl phosphorodithioate (5a-c) have been synthesised.These new molecules have been screened for their insecticidal activities against M. domestica, P. operculell, A. aegypti and T. castaneum.Compound 9 appears to be most active showing 100percent morta;ity at 5 ppm concentration.Compounds 4, 16 and 25 exhibit 70-75percent mortality against M. domestica and T. castaneum at 10 ppm concentration.
