Bis(2-chloroethyl)(1,1-dialkyl-2-propynyl)amines were synthesized.The bis(2-chloroethyl)amino group in these compounds is weakly basic and poorly reactive as alkylating agents, and it is not involved in aminomethylation.From the UV, (1)H and (13)C NMR, and IR spectra it was assumed that bis(2-chloroethyl)(1,1-dialkyl-2-propynyl)amine hydrochlorides are adducts of the corresponding base with HCl, the latter being retained due to the chlorine atoms and ? electrons of the triple bond.
