Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 175347-01-0 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 1,7,5,3,4 and 7 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 0 and 1 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 175347-01:
(8*1)+(7*7)+(6*5)+(5*3)+(4*4)+(3*7)+(2*0)+(1*1)=140
140 % 10 = 0
So 175347-01-0 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Compounds represented by the general formula (1): ? (where R1is SR6or NR7R8, where R6is typically an alkyl group having 1-6 carbon atoms, R7is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1-6 carbon atoms or a nitro group, and R8is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having 1-6 carbon atoms; R2and R3are each typically a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having 1-6 carbon atoms; R4is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1-6 carbon atoms or an amidino group of which the amine portion may be substituted by an alkyl or nitro group; R5is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having 1-6 carbon atoms; Y1, Y2, Y3and Y4which may be the same or different are each typically a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom or an alkoxy group having 1-6 carbon atoms; n and m are each an integer of 0 or 1), or possible stereoisomers or optically active forms of the compounds or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof. The compounds possess a potent nitric oxide synthase inhibiting activity and are useful as therapeutics of cerebrovascular diseases.

Decomposition of 2-dialkylaminobenzoyl azides to yield isocyanates and 1,1 -dialky lindazol-1-ium-3-olates

Waldron, Norman M.,Raza, Muhammad

, p. 271 - 276 (2007/10/03)

Substituted benzoyl azides normally yield the correspondingly substituted isocyanates but when a dialkylated amino group is in the 2-position, in addition to the isocyanate, the 1,1-dialkylated indazol-1-ium-3-olate is produced. The ratio of the two products is very variable depending upon the substitution in the benzene ring. Largest yields of the zwitterionic products were found when there was a substituent in the 3-position regardless of whether the substituent was electron-donating or -withdrawing.
