Synthesis and Application of Some New Spiro Pyranothiazole Derivatives

4-(phenyl/benzyl)1,4-thiazaspirononan-3-one and/or 4-(phenyl/benzyl)1,4-thiazaspiro-decan-3-one (1-4) were allowed to react with arylidene malononitrile and arylidene ethylcyanoacetate in absolute ethanol in the presence of morpholine to afford the pyranothiazolo derivatives 7 a-e - 14 a-e.Compounds 8a, 10a, 12a, and 14 a were reacted with triethyl orthoformate.The reaction products 18 a,b were reacted with hydrazine hydrate to afford the corresponding derivatives 19 a,b.Acid hydrolysis of 8a and 10a with sulphuric acid gave 15 a,b which cyclized with acetic anhydride to give the corresponding oxazinone derivatives 16 a,b.Interaction of 16 a,b with some selected amines gave the corresponding diazinone derivatives 17 a-f.Some of the synthesized compounds have been screened in vitro for their antimicrobial activities.
