VIBRATIONAL SPECTRA OF S7Se AND A COMMON FORCE FIELD FOR (34)S8, (32)S8 AND S7Se
Eysel, H. H.
, p. 203 - 214 (1982)
Raman spectra of solid S7Se have been recorded both at room temperature and at low temperatures down to ca. 30 K.Abnormal half-widths of the low-temperature spectra compared with those of S8 indicate that an ordered phase of S7Se does not exist.Simultaneous calculations of a valence force field for (32)S8, (34)S8 and S7Se yielded a refined force field for elemental sulphur along with the force constants of SSe bonds and SSeS angle deformations. The observed frequencies are reproduced to within 0.5percent for all three molecules.

Chromium Chalcogen Complexes. Insertion of Elemental Sulphur into 2>>Se> and (cp= η-C5H5)
Goh, Lai Yoong
, p. 431 - 438 (2007/10/02)
The facile insertion of elemental sulphur into the cumulated linear triple bond , of (cp=η-C5H5) resulted in the isolation of , , and , with relative yields dependent on the reaction conditions, as well as the sulphur selenides S7Se and S6Se2.Detailed n.m.r. and t.l.c. studies indicated that the transformation occured via dichalcogen species of the type and .It was demonstrated that also can undergo a rapid reaction with elemental sulphur to give as the ultimate product.
