Synthesis of some imidazopyrazolopyrimidine derivatives

5-Amino-4-(4,5-dihydro-1H-imidazol-2-yl)-1-phenylpyrazole (2) was prepared and then allowed to react with nitrous acid, triethyl orthoformate, acetic anhydride and carbon disulfide to give the imidazopyrazolotriazine 3 and imidazopyrazolopyrimidines 4-6, respectively. Starting with thione 6, a series of S-substituted mercapto derivatives 7a-j was obtained.
