General Description
Trifluoro(fluorothio)methane, also known as CF3SF, is a chemical compound that consists of three fluorine atoms and one sulfur atom attached to a central carbon atom. Trifluoro(fluorothio)methane is a colorless gas with a pungent odor and is commonly used as an intermediate in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals. Trifluoro(fluorothio)methane is highly reactive due to the presence of fluorine and sulfur atoms, making it useful in organic chemistry reactions such as nucleophilic substitution and electrophilic addition. It is important to handle this compound with caution as it is considered toxic and can cause irritation to the respiratory system and skin upon exposure. Additionally, Trifluoro(fluorothio)methane is a greenhouse gas with a high global warming potential, contributing to environmental concerns.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 17742-04-0 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 1,7,7,4 and 2 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 0 and 4 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 17742-04:
(7*1)+(6*7)+(5*7)+(4*4)+(3*2)+(2*0)+(1*4)=110
110 % 10 = 0
So 17742-04-0 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Paragraph 0006; 0018; 0022; 0025; 0028; 0031, (2021/07/14)
The invention provides a preparation method of trifluoromethyl sulfinyl chloride. The preparation method comprises the following steps: carrying out a fluorination reaction on a raw material perchloromethyl mercaptan to obtain trifluoromethyl sulfur fluorine, carrying out an oxidation reaction to obtain trifluoromethyl sulfinyl chloride, and carrying out a chlorination reaction to obtain trifluoromethyl sulfinyl chloride. According to the preparation method of trifluoromethyl sulfinyl chloride, a brand-new process route is adopted, the use of the raw material trifluorobromomethane which has a destructive effect on an ozone layer is avoided, and perchloromethyl mercaptan is used as the raw material.
