Synthesis of novel thioxoderivatives of pyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidines and their nucleosides as possible anticancer agents
Sharma, Anoop K.,Swati,Yadav, Ashok K.,Prakash
, p. 109 - 114 (1996)
Synthesis of some 2-thioxo-3,5,7-trisubstituted pyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidine-4(1H)-ones and corresponding nucleosides viz. 2-mioxo-3,5,7-trisubstiwted-1-(2,3,5-tri-O-benzoyl-β-D-ribofuranosyl) pyrido[2,3-d]-pyrimidine-4 (1H)-ones is reported. The results of antimicrobial activities are also reported. The structures of the compounds have been established by elemental, IR and NMR analyses.

An environmentally benign novel one-pot synthesis of pyridines and pyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidines from chalcones and malononitrile was described. In the reaction under neat conditions using microwave irradiation, enhancement in the reaction rate and high yields
Synthesis of some new pyrimidine bases as precursors of potential anticancer nucleosides
Sharma, Anoop K.,Yadav, Ashok K.,Prakash, Lalit
, p. 740 - 742 (2007/10/03)
3,5,7-Trisubstituted-pyridopyrimidine-2,4(1H,3H)-diones (4) have been synthesized from the reaction of 2-amino-3-cyano-4,6-diarylpyridines (2) with arylisocyanates in dioxan-pyridine.Compounds 4 have also been prepared by the hydrolysis of 2 with alc.KOH to give 2-amino-3-carboxamido-4,6-disubstituted pyridines (3) which on refluxing with arylisocyanate in diphenyl ether afford 4.They are characterised by elemental analyses and IR and 1H NMR spectral data. They have been tested for antibacterial and antifungal activity.
