Dimethylmethoxychlorosilane is a chemical compound with the formula (CH3)2Si(OCH3)Cl. It is a clear, colorless liquid and is primarily used as a silylating agent in organic synthesis and as a protective group for alcohols and phenols. Dimethylmethoxychlorosilane is also used as an intermediate in the production of other organosilicon compounds and as a hydrophobic and anti-corrosive coating for various surfaces.
