2-Amino-10,11-dihydrophenanthrothiazole (III), 6b-aza-5,6-dihydronaphthocarbazole (IV), 11H-5,6-dihydronaphthocarbazole (V), 10,11-dihydrophenanthro-isoxazole and -pyrazole (VIII, X), their 3-phenyl-(XI), 3-thiocarbamoyl-(XII) and the corresponding 1-carbethoxy derivatives (XIV, XV, XVI, XVII) have been synthesised starting from 1-oxo-1,2,3,4-tetrahydrophenanthrene (I).
