Synthesis and properties of carbamoyl derivatives of photolabile benzoins

Carbamoyl derivatives of photolabile benzoins, particularly of 3',5'-dimethoxybenzoin, are readily prepared via the mixed p-nitrophenyl carbonate of the benzoin.
