Various chlorosilylcarborane derivatives were prepared. In subsequent reactions with amines or water a marked propensity for the formation of five-membered disilaazane and disilaoxane rings was exhibited. In reactions with dilithiocarborane, novel disilacyclohexane analogs were formed.
