A variety of 2-pyrrolidino-, 2-N-methylpiperazino-, 2-piperidino-, and 2-morpholino-1,3,4-thiadiazines were prepared by cyclocondensation of phenacyl halides with thiosemicarbazides. Heating of the products resulted in desulfurization and formation of pyrazoles. The rate of this process strongly depends on the substitution pattern of the 1,3,4-thiadiazines.

Substitued 6H-1,3,4-thiadiazin-2-amines of the following general formula: wherein Ar is phenyl optionally substituted with one or more chloro, bromo atoms, C1-C4alkoxy, or C1-C4alkyl groups; and represents a morpholino, thimomorpholino, piperidino, pyrrolidino, or hexamethylenimino moieties, the pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof and the use of them anasethetic, cardiovascular and hypometabolic agents and pharmaceutical compositions containing them.
