The invention relates to a synthesis method of 1,3-diamino-5,7-dimethyl adamantine. The synthesis method comprises the following steps: synthesizing 1,3-dibromo-5,7-dimethyl adamantine from 1,3-dimethyl adamantan, bromine, a catalyst, and a halogenated hydrocarbon solvent; reacting 1,3-dibromo-5,7-dimethyl adamantine with an acetonitrile and sulfuric acid to synthesize 1,3-diacetylamino-5,7-dimethyl adamantane; and finally carrying out hydrochloric acid hydrolysis reaction to obtain the 1,3-diamino-5,7-dimethyl adamantine. The products in the steps of the preparation method reach 99% in purity without refining; and the intermediate in each step can be used for next step without subsequent complicated operation treatment. The 1,3-diamino-5,7-dimethyl adamantine prepared by using the synthesis method disclosed by the invention has wide application prospects. A diamine monomer prepared by using the 1,3-diamino-5,7-dimethyl adamantine has high transparency and excellent chromaticity index, so that a polyimide (PI) film has the advantages of increasing the transparency, reducing the coefficient of linear expansion, increasing the glass transition temperature and improving the refractive index, the production process of the polyimide film is simplified, and the investment in production equipment is substantially reduced.
