Solution and solid-state characterization of a dicopper receptor for large substrates
Davidson, Greg J.E.,Baer, Andrew J.,Cote, Adrien P.,Taylor, Nicholas J.,Hanan, Garry S.,Tanaka, Yasutaka,Watanabe, Masashi
, p. 496 - 498 (2002)
Ligand 2 contains two metal-binding domains separated by a rigid spacer and assembles into a dicopper receptor with a large central cavity with no evidence of catenation.
The use of McMurry coupling for the synthesis of indolophanes and cis-stilbenophanes
Rajakumar, Perumal,Gayatri Swaroop, Merikapudi
, p. 6165 - 6167 (2007/10/03)
Treatment of 2equiv of indole-3-aldehyde with o, m, p-xylyl, 2,5-dimethoxy-p-xylyl dibromides and 4,4′-bis(bromomethyl)-1,1′- biphenyl gave the bisalkylated products, which underwent McMurry coupling with low valent titanium to give indolophanes. Various cis-stilbenophanes with m-terphenyl building blocks were also synthesized by application of the McMurry coupling technique.
Synthesis of cyclophanes with intra-annular functionality and cage structure
Kannan, Arunachalam,Rajakumar, Perumal,Kabaleeswaran,Rajan
, p. 5090 - 5102 (2007/10/03)
Cyclophanes of the type 1 and 2, with large cavity sizes, have been synthesized from the corresponding dichloride 8 or 8a and o-xylene-α,α′-dithiol (9), p-xylene-α,α′-dithiol (10), or m-terphenyldithiol (11). Similarly, cyclophanes of the type 3 with intr
