19606-98-5 Usage

General Description

N,N,N'-triphenyl-4-phenylenediamine, also known as PPD, is a chemical compound commonly used in hair dyes and other coloring products. It acts as a colorant by forming colored polymers upon oxidation, which then adhere to the hair fibers. PPD is also used in the manufacturing of dyes for textiles, fur, and leather. However, PPD has been associated with allergic reactions, skin irritation, and even severe allergic contact dermatitis, especially in hairdressers and individuals with sensitive skin. Therefore, the use of PPD in hair dyes is regulated in many countries, and precautionary measures are recommended to minimize the risk of adverse reactions.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 19606-98-5 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 1,9,6,0 and 6 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 9 and 8 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 19606-98:
(7*1)+(6*9)+(5*6)+(4*0)+(3*6)+(2*9)+(1*8)=135
135 % 10 = 5
So 19606-98-5 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
