(Chemical Equation Presented) A new and efficient method has been developed for the synthesis of biologically significant 2-arylbenzimidazoles, 2-arylbenzothiazoles, and azomethines using recyclable and inexpensive polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP)-stabilized Ni nanoparticles in ethylene glycol at room temperature in excellent yields.
