Valeric acid p-(p-ethoxyphenylazo)phenyl ester is a complex organic compound with the chemical formula C19H20N2O3. It is a derivative of valeric acid, which is a saturated monocarboxylic acid with a five-carbon chain. The compound is characterized by the presence of an azo group (-N=N-) connecting a p-ethoxyphenyl group to a phenyl group, which is esterified to the valeric acid. This specific structure gives the compound unique chemical properties and potential applications in various fields, such as in the synthesis of dyes or as a chemical intermediate in the pharmaceutical industry. The compound's name reflects its structure, with "p-(p-ethoxyphenylazo)phenyl" indicating the presence of a para-ethoxyphenyl group attached to an azo group, which is then connected to a phenyl group that forms an ester with valeric acid.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 20730-67-0 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 2,0,7,3 and 0 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 6 and 7 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 20730-67:
(7*2)+(6*0)+(5*7)+(4*3)+(3*0)+(2*6)+(1*7)=80
80 % 10 = 0
So 20730-67-0 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Magnetic Susceptibility Studies of EPAP Acetate and EPAP Valerate

Choudary, L. V.,Rao, J. V.,Venkatacharyulu, P.

, p. 463 - 472 (2007/10/02)

The temperature variation of the magnetic susceptibility (χg) of the liquid crystals EPAP Acetate and EPAP Valerate is reported in the isotropic liquid and nematic phases.Abrupt changes in χg and S * Δχg are observed at isotropic liquid-nematic transition. The isotropic liquid-nematic transition is found to be of first order in both the compounds. The order parameter is calculated using an estimated value for the molar susceptibility anisotropy.
