Nickel-Catalyzed Kumada Coupling of Boc-Activated Aromatic Amines via Nondirected Selective Aryl C-N Bond Cleavage
Zhang, Zheng-Bing,Ji, Chong-Lei,Yang, Ce,Chen, Jie,Hong, Xin,Xia, Ji-Bao
supporting information, p. 1226 - 1231 (2019/02/14)
A nickel-catalyzed Kumada coupling of aniline derivatives was developed by selective cleavage of aryl C-N bonds under mild reaction conditions. Without preinstallation of an ortho directing group on anilines, the cross-coupling reactions of Boc-protected aromatic amines with aryl Grignard reagents afforded unsymmetric biaryls. Mechanistic studies by DFT calculations revealed that the nickel-mediated C-N bond cleavage is the rate-limiting step.

supporting information, p. 629 - 633 (2017/01/25)
A chemoselective transformation of amines to their tert-butyloxycarbonyl (Boc) protected derivatives (NBoc) is described using Cu-NPs under solvent-free conditions. Simple method, rapid reaction rate, mild conditions, tolerance of a wide range of functional groups, excellent yield, ease recovery and high catalytic turnover are the salient features of this approach. tert-Butyloxycarbonylation of chiral amino acid esters and amino alcohols were performed without racemization.

, p. 1258 - 1263 (2015/01/30)
A Pd(II)-catalyzed C-H monocarbonylation of N-alkylanilines for the synthesis of o-aminobenzoates has been developed. Various aliphatic alcohols and phenol were tolerated in the reaction to afford the corresponding o-aminobenzoates in good yields under mild balloon pressure of CO.

, p. 164 - 170 (2014/03/21)
A mild, efficient and eco-friendly protocol for the chemoselective protection of benzylic and primary and less hindered secondary aliphatic alcohols and phenols as trimethylsilyl ethers and different types of amines as N-tert-butylcarbamates is developed using rice husk (RiH) as the catalyst. This reagent is also able to catalyze the acetylation of alcohols, phenols, thiols and amines with acetic anhydride. Easy work-up, relatively short reaction times, excellent yields and low cost, availability and reusability of the catalyst are the striking features of this methodology, which can be considered to be one of the best and general methods for the protection of alcohols, phenols, thiols and amines. In addition, the use of a green reagent in the above-mentioned reactions results in a reduction of environmental pollution and of the cost of the applied methods.

, p. 509 - 515 (2014/03/21)
A green and simple approach for the N-Boc protection on structurally diverse amines under ultrasound irradiation is described. Selective N-Boc protection was achieved in excellent isolated yield in a short reaction time at room temperature. Mild conditions, inexpensive and an easily available reagent, and absence of any auxiliary substances are the main advantages of this procedure. experimental part, p. 883 - 886 (2012/08/28)
We present an efficient, fast and simple strategy of generating the intermediate carbamoyl chlorides from secondary amines using stoichiometric amounts of bis(trichloromethyl)carbonate (BTC) in solution and solvent-free conditions with excellent yields. The results obtained showed the yield increasing on whether a base was used. Finally, an efficient and rapid synthesis of variety carbamate derivatives was developed by the reaction with a high variety of different alcohols, phenols, diols and this intermediate at room temperature with grinding and in solvent-free conditions under microwave irradiation. The presence of various safe bases is shown to be effective in reducing the reaction times, increasing the yields and easing purification. The present method does not involve any hazardous phosgene.

Sunitha, Sadula,Kanjilal, Sanjit,Reddy, P. Srinivasa,Prasad, Rachapudi B.N.
, p. 2527 - 2532 (2008/09/19)
The first report of a Br?nsted acidic ionic liquid, 1-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate [(HMIm)BF4], catalyzed efficient and chemoselective N-Boc protection of various amines using (Boc)2O is presented. Optically pure amino alcohols and amino acid esters were converted efficiently to their corresponding optically pure N-Boc derivatives. The reported method is mild, solvent-free and has the advantages of both homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysis with high product yields, selectivity and ease of product separation.
