The Relative Electron Donating Ability of Substituents, Determined in 2,6-Disubstituted Pyrylium Cations
Farcasiu, Dan,Sharma, Shalini
, p. 126 - 128 (1991)
Tha carbon-13 NMR spectra of a series of 2,6-disubstituted pyrylium compounds have been investigated. The chemical shift of C(4) is a measure of the charge density in that position of the ring. The variation of the chemical shift with the change of substitu
One-Pot Synthesis of 2,6-Di-t-butyl- and 2,6-Diarylthiopyrylium Perchlorates
Doddi, Giancarlo,Ercolani, Gianfranco
, p. 789 - 790 (1985)
The title compounds were prepared by reaction of the corresponding methyl ketone with an excess of triethyl orthoformate in an acidic medium (acetic anhydride/perchloric acid) under a hydrogen sulfide stream.
Some Reactions of 4H-Pyrylium Salts with Tributylphosphine and with Tertiary Amines
Reynolds, G. A.,Chen, C. H.
, p. 1235 - 1237 (2007/10/02)
The phosphonium salt from tributylphosphine and 2,6-di(4-methoxyphenyl)pyrylium perchlorate (3) reacted with diisopropylethylamine in acetonitrile to give 2,2',6,6'-tetra(4-methoxyphenyl)-Δ4,4'-bi-4H-pyran in quantitative yield. The reaction of 3 and other 4H-pyrylium salts with tertiary amines gave 4H-pyrans.
