Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 21703-54-8 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 2,1,7,0 and 3 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 5 and 4 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 21703-54:
(7*2)+(6*1)+(5*7)+(4*0)+(3*3)+(2*5)+(1*4)=78
78 % 10 = 8
So 21703-54-8 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Synthesis of Some 2-(3',5'-Dimethylpyrazol-1'-yl)-4-methyl-6-substituted-quinolines and Their 4'-Substituted Analogues

Singh, S. P.,Vaid, R. K.,Prakash, I.,Prakash, O.

, p. 945 - 950 (2007/10/02)

The reaction of 2-hydrazinoquinolines (2) with pentane-2,4-dione yields pyrazoles (1) instead of the reported diazepines (3).The structural assignment is based on a rigorous spectral analysis of the product and on unambiguous synthesis.Several pyrazolylquinolines (1, 6 and 7) bearing a variety of substituents were synthesized and evaluated for their antiinflammatory and antimalarial activities.
