Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 256521-85-4 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 2,5,6,5,2 and 1 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 8 and 5 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 256521-85:
(8*2)+(7*5)+(6*6)+(5*5)+(4*2)+(3*1)+(2*8)+(1*5)=144
144 % 10 = 4
So 256521-85-4 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

General and Mild Nickel-Catalyzed Cyanation of Aryl/Heteroaryl Chlorides with Zn(CN)2: Key Roles of DMAP

Zhang, Xingjie,Xia, Aiyou,Chen, Haoyi,Liu, Yuanhong

supporting information, p. 2118 - 2121 (2017/04/27)

A new and general nickel-catalyzed cyanation of hetero(aryl) chlorides using less toxic Zn(CN)2 as the cyanide source has been developed. The reaction relies on the use of inexpensive NiCl2·6H2O/dppf/Zn as the catalytic system and DMAP as the additive, allowing the cyanation to occur under mild reaction conditions (50-80 °C) with wide functional group tolerance. DMAP was found to be crucial for successful transformation, and the reaction likely proceeds via a Ni(0)/Ni(II) catalysis based on mechanistic studies. The method was also successfully extended to aryl bromides and aryl iodides.

Palladium-catalyzed direct hydroxymethylation of aryl halides and triflates with potassium acetoxymethyltrifluoroborate

Murai, Norio,Yonaga, Masahiro,Tanaka, Keigo

, p. 1278 - 1281 (2012/04/23)

Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling reactions of aryl halides and triflates with potassium acetoxymethyltrifluoroborate afforded the corresponding aryl and heteroaryl methanol products in moderate to excellent yields.

A mild and highly efficient method for the preparation of silyl ethers using Fe(HSO4)3/Et3N by chlorosilanes

Abri, Abdolreza,Assadi, Mohammad Galeh,Pourreza, Samira

, p. 1449 - 1454 (2013/03/13)

Avery efficient and mild procedure for preparation of silyl ethers from benzylic, allylic, propargilic alcohols, phenols, naphtoles and some of phenolic drugs with trimethylsilylchloride (TMSCl), triethylsilylchloride (TESCl) and t-buthyldimethylsilyl chloride (TDSCl) ethers in the presence of Fe(HSO 4)3/Et3N in roomtemperature in excellent yields is reported. This procedure also allows the excellent selectivity for silylation of alcohols and phenols.

Asymmetric intermolecular C-H functionalization of benzyl silyl ethers mediated by chiral auxiliary-based aryldiazoacetates and chiral dirhodium catalysts

Davies, Huw M. L.,Hedley, Simon J.,Bohall, Brooks R.

, p. 10737 - 10742 (2007/10/03)

C-H functionalization of benzyl silyl ethers by means of rhodium-catalyzed insertions of aryldiazoacetates can be achieved in a highly diastereoselective and enantioselective manner by judicious choice of chiral catalyst or auxiliary. The dirhodium tetrap

Selective oxidation of benzylic alcohols and TBDMS ethers to carbonyl compounds with CrO3-H5IO6

Zhang, Suhong,Xu, Liang,Trudell, Mark L.

, p. 1757 - 1760 (2007/10/03)

Benzyl alcohols and benzyl TBDMS ethers were efficiently oxidized to the corresponding carbonyl compounds in high yield with periodic acid catalyzed by CrO3 at low temperature (-78°C). The oxidation procedure was highly functional group tolerant and very selective for the TBDMS group over the TBDPS group. Georg Thieme Verlag Stuttgart.
