25683-07-2 Usage
Uses
Used in Agricultural Industry:
Pyoluteorin is used as a bio-pesticide for controlling and managing various pests and diseases in crops. Its herbicidal activity helps in reducing the growth of unwanted plants, while its antifungal properties contribute to the protection of crops from fungal infections.
Used in Pharmaceutical Industry:
Pyoluteorin is used as an antibiotic agent for treating bacterial infections. Its broad-spectrum activity against various pathogens makes it a valuable compound in the development of new antibiotics.
Used in Environmental Applications:
Pyoluteorin is used for environmental management, particularly in the bioremediation of contaminated sites. Its ability to modulate the levels of metabolites in Pseudomonas species can enhance the bacteria's ability to degrade pollutants and improve the overall health of the ecosystem.
Used in Research and Development:
Pyoluteorin is used as a research tool for studying the mechanisms of action of various biological processes. Its diverse bioactivity profile makes it an interesting compound for investigating the interactions between different organisms and their environments, as well as for exploring potential applications in biotechnology and drug discovery.
Biological Activity
pyoluteorin is a secondary metabolite produced by the biological control organism pseudomonas fluorescens pf-5, a rhizosphere bacterium. pyoluteorin shows no toxicity to seed- and root-rotting plant pathogens. pyoluteorin production is influenced by positive autoregulation. addition of pyoluteorin to liquid cultures of pf-5 enhanced pyoluteorin production.pyoluteorin functions as a signal molecule negatively regulating additional secondary metabolites produced by pseudomonas [1]. the pyoluteorin contributes to the biological control of soilborne plant diseases by some strains of pseudomonas fluorescens, including pf-5. pyoluteorin induces its own productionand represses the other’s production [2]. depending on the plant, pyoluteorin production plays an important role in the suppression of damping-off by strain cha0 without being a major mechanism in disease suppression [3].
Safety Profile
A poison by ingestion and intraperitoneal routes. A flammable liquid. When heated to decomposition it emits toxic vapors of NOx and Cl-.

Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 25683-07-2 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 2,5,6,8 and 3 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 0 and 7 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 25683-07:
(7*2)+(6*5)+(5*6)+(4*8)+(3*3)+(2*0)+(1*7)=122
122 % 10 = 2
So 25683-07-2 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
