Template synthesis of metal chelates on the basis of the components of 2-(2-Pyridylmethyleneamino)-N-tosylaniline

Template electrosynthesis was employed to obtain from 2-(tosylamino)aniline and 2-pyridinecarbaldehyde monomeric metal 2-(2-pyridylmethyleneamino)-N-tosylaniline chelates (LH) of the composition ML2 (M = Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, and Cd). Independent electrochemical and chemical syntheses of the same intra-complex compounds, starting from the above azomethine ligand, were performed.
