Synthesis of biscalix[4]arene with enhanced binding ability to a cationic guest
Araki, Koji,Watanabe, Tomokazu,Oda, Monoru,Hayashida, Hiromi,Yasutake, Mikio,Shinmyozu, Teruo
, p. 7465 - 7468 (2001)
The biscalix[4]arene showed remarkably enhanced inclusion ability for the N-methylpyridinium ion due to the increasing π-basicity of the benzene rings, which interact with the guest in an edge-to-face manner, in calix[4]arene skeletons.
Palladium-catalyzed cyanation of bromocalix[4]arenes at the upper rim
Hioki,Nakaoka,Maruyama,Kodama
, p. 3265 - 3268 (2007/10/03)
Palladium-catalyzed cyanation of bromocalix[4]arenes possessing various kinds of functional groups at the lower rim is investigated. The yields varied depending on the functional groups. Most of the substrates are cyanated in excellent yield by treatment
