3-(3-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl)propiolic acid is an organic compound characterized by its unique molecular structure. It features a propiolic acid backbone, which is a three-carbon chain ending with a carboxylic acid group and an alkyne group. The compound is further distinguished by the presence of a trifluoromethyl group attached to a phenyl ring, which is itself connected to the third carbon of the propiolic acid chain. This specific arrangement of functional groups endows the molecule with distinct chemical properties, making it a potentially valuable building block in the synthesis of various pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, and other specialty chemicals. The trifluoromethyl group, in particular, can significantly influence the molecule's reactivity, stability, and lipophilicity, which are important considerations in drug design and chemical research.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 2806-30-6 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 2,8,0 and 6 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 3 and 0 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 2806-30:
(6*2)+(5*8)+(4*0)+(3*6)+(2*3)+(1*0)=76
76 % 10 = 6
So 2806-30-6 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Decarboxylative Oxyacyloxylation of Propiolic Acids: Construction of Alkynyl-Containing α-Acyloxy Ketones

Chen, Xin,Xin, Yangchun,Zhao, Zhi-Wei,Hou, Yu-Jian,Wang, Xiang-Xiang,Xia, Wen-Jin,Li, Ya-Min

, p. 8216 - 8225 (2021)

Novel decarboxylative oxyacyloxylation of propiolic acids has been developed. This reaction provides an efficient access to alkynyl-containing α-acyloxy ketones from readily available starting materials and exhibits significant functional group tolerance. Furthermore, oxyacyloxylation of terminal alkynes and aliphatic propiolic acids was also developed. A possible reaction mechanism is proposed based on mechanistic studies.
