μ-ClSiH2B5H8, also known as μ-chloro-bis(trihydroborato)silane, is a chemical compound consisting of one silicon (Si) atom, one chlorine (Cl) atom, two boron (B) atoms, and eight hydrogen (H) atoms. It features a silicon atom bonded to two boron atoms, each of which is also bonded to three hydrogen atoms, forming a cyclic structure. The chlorine atom is connected to the silicon atom, creating a μ-chloro bridge. μ-ClSiH2B5H8 is of interest in organosilicon chemistry and can be used as a precursor in the synthesis of various organosilicon compounds. It is typically synthesized through the reaction of silicon tetrachloride with sodium borohydride in a hydrocarbon solvent. Due to its reactivity, μ-ClSiH2B5H8 is often used in the formation of silylboranes and other organosilicon derivatives, which have applications in materials science and chemical research.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 28263-76-5 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 2,8,2,6 and 3 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 7 and 6 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 28263-76:
(7*2)+(6*8)+(5*2)+(4*6)+(3*3)+(2*7)+(1*6)=125
125 % 10 = 5
So 28263-76-5 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

The preparation and properties of 2- and μ-(halosilyl)pentaboranes(9)

Geisler, Thomas C.,Norman, Arlan D.

, p. 2167 - 2170 (2008/10/08)

The reactions of 2-SiH3B5H8 and μ-SiH3B5H8 with BCl3 and BBr3 produce 2-(ClSiH2)B5H8, μ-(ClSiH2)B5H8, and 2-(BrSiH2)-B5H8, in high yield. The 2-(ClSiH2)B5H8 and 2-(BrSiH2)B5H8 can also be prepared from the aluminum halide catalyzed reactions of 2-SiH3B5H8 with HCl and HBr, respectively. In all cases, halogenation occurs exclusively at the silicon atom. The new compounds have been characterized by elemental analyses and infrared, 11B nmr, 1H nmr, and mass spectral data. Deuterium exchange between DCl and 2-SiH3B5H8 or 2-(ClSiH2)B5H8, catalyzed by aluminum chloride, occurs at the apical, B(1), terminal position.
