4-amino-1,1'-azonaphthalene is used as a pigment for oil, paraffin wax, cellulose, and synthetic resin paint color. Its application is attributed to its color properties and solubility in various solvents, which make it suitable for creating vibrant and stable colors in the paint and coatings industry.
4-amino-1,1'-azonaphthalene also exhibits light fastness and heat resistance, with a temperature tolerance of up to 100°C. It remains stable in the presence of water and sodium carbonate (5%), showing no change in its properties. However, it turns purple when exposed to hydrochloric acid (5%), indicating its sensitivity to acidic environments.
