Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 289685-81-0 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 2,8,9,6,8 and 5 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 8 and 1 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 289685-81:
(8*2)+(7*8)+(6*9)+(5*6)+(4*8)+(3*5)+(2*8)+(1*1)=220
220 % 10 = 0
So 289685-81-0 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Synthesis of nitro- and aminoindoles
Yamashkin,Yurovskaya
, p. 1426 - 1432 (2007/10/03)
Optimal conditions are proposed for the direct nitration of 2,3-dimethylindoles containing methyl and methoxy groups in the benzene ring. In contrast to 5- and 6-methylindoles and 5- and 6-methoxyindoles, nitration of 7-methyl- and 7-methoxy-2,3-dimethylindoles proceeds differently under the same conditions. A series of previously unreported aminoindoles was obtained by reduction of the nitroindoles. 1999 Kluwer Academic/Plenum Publishers.
