Dodecahydro-1H-phenalene, also known as decaline, is a cyclic alkane with the molecular formula C10H18. It is a colorless, oily liquid that is derived from the hydrogenation of phenalene, a bicyclic aromatic compound. Decaline is characterized by its high boiling point (195.7°C) and low melting point (-24.2°C), and it is insoluble in water but soluble in organic solvents. This chemical is primarily used as a solvent in various industrial applications, such as the production of paints, varnishes, and resins, as well as a component in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals. Due to its relatively low toxicity and stable chemical properties, decaline is considered a versatile and valuable compound in the chemical industry.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 2935-07-1 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 2,9,3 and 5 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 0 and 7 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 2935-07:
(6*2)+(5*9)+(4*3)+(3*5)+(2*0)+(1*7)=91
91 % 10 = 1
So 2935-07-1 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Chromatostructural analysis of phenalene and its hydrogenation products

Nazarova, V. I.,Petrova, R. S.,Shcherbakova, K. D.

, p. 169 - 171 (2007/10/02)

The structure of phenalene and of its hydrogenation products has been established by molecular statistics calculations (in the atom-atom approximation) and by experimental gas-chromatographic determination of Henry's constants for the adsorption equilibrium on graphitised thermal black at 200 - 300 deg C.By comparing the experimental and theoretical Henry's constants we show that a mixture of isomers of perhydrophenalene contains two isomers: cis-trans-cis and trans-trans-trans.Results closely similar to the experimental values for phenalene (perinaphthene) have been obtained in calculations for the proposed structure.
