(4-methylnaphthalen-1-yl)diphenylphosphane, also known as 4-methyl-1-naphthyl diphenylphosphine, is an organophosphorus compound characterized by a phosphorus atom bonded to two phenyl groups and a 4-methylnaphthalene group. (4-methylnaphthalen-1-yl)diphenylphosphane is a white crystalline solid and is used as a ligand in organometallic chemistry, particularly in the formation of transition metal complexes. It plays a role in various catalytic processes and is valued for its ability to modify the electronic and steric properties of metal centers. The compound's structure, with a naphthalene ring and a methyl group, contributes to its unique reactivity and stability in chemical reactions.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 3135-73-7 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 3,1,3 and 5 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 7 and 3 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 3135-73:
(6*3)+(5*1)+(4*3)+(3*5)+(2*7)+(1*3)=67
67 % 10 = 7
So 3135-73-7 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Differentially Substituted Phosphines via Decarbonylation of Acylphosphines

Yu, Rongrong,Chen, Xingyu,Martin, Stephen F.,Wang, Zhiqian

, p. 1808 - 1811 (2017/04/11)

A new route to phosphines was developed by a method that features a "pre-join and transform" process that proceeds via acylphosphine intermediates that may be readily prepared from carboxylic acids and disubstituted phosphines. The efficient decarbonylations of these acylphosphines using a nickel catalyst delivered the corresponding phosphines. This method shows that the carboxyl group can play a role similar to halides or triflates for introducing a substituted phosphorus atom on an aromatic ring.
