"π-C2H4Ni(P(OC6H4CH3-o)3)2" is a complex organometallic compound, featuring nickel (Ni) as the central metal atom. The compound is characterized by an ethylene (C2H4) molecule acting as a π-complex, which means it is bonded to the nickel through the overlap of its p-orbitals. The nickel is also coordinated to two tris(ortho-tolyl)phosphine ligands, which are phosphorus-containing molecules with three ortho-tolyl (C6H4CH3-o) groups attached to the phosphorus atom. This structure contributes to the stability and reactivity of the complex, making it a significant species in organometallic chemistry and potentially useful in catalytic applications.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 31666-47-4 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 3,1,6,6 and 6 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 4 and 7 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 31666-47:
(7*3)+(6*1)+(5*6)+(4*6)+(3*6)+(2*4)+(1*7)=114
114 % 10 = 4
So 31666-47-4 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Ethylene[bis(tri-o-tolyl phosphite)]nickel(0)

Seidel,Tolman

, p. 2354 - 2357 (1970)

The preparation and properties of ethylene[bis(tri-o-tolyl phosphite)]nickel(0) are described. The ethylene appears in the proton nmr spectrum at τ 8.06, 3.3 ppm to high field of free C2H4. The v(C=C) of ethylene in the complex was observed in the Raman spectrum at 1487 cm-1, 136 cm-1, lower than that of free C2H4. Spectrophotometric measurements show that addition of tri-o-tolyl phosphite to a solution of the ethylene complex rapidly converts it to tris- and tetrakis(tri-o-tolyl phosphite)nickel complexes. The equilibrium constant K1, to give the tris-phosphite complex via the reaction (C2H4)-NiL2 + L ?K1NiL3 + C2H4, has a value of 6.8 ± 0.5 × 10-3 in benzene at 28°.
