3243-42-3 Usage
General Description
3-(1-Naphthyl)-Propionic Acid, also known as "1-Naphthalenepropanoic Acid" or "β-Naphthylpropionic Acid," is an organic compound that belongs to the class of naphthalenes, which are polycyclic aromatic compounds containing a naphthalene moiety. It has a role as a plant metabolite and is used as a plant growth regulator. The molecular formula of this chemical compound is C13H12O2. 3-(1-NAPHTHYL)-PROPIONIC ACID can be harmful if swallowed, inhaled, or comes into contact with the skin, potentially causing skin and eye irritation. The acid is generally used with caution between protective clothing and equipment. Its potential storage should adhere to a secure, regulated environment due to its potential hazardous nature.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 3243-42-3 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 3,2,4 and 3 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 4 and 2 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 3243-42:
(6*3)+(5*2)+(4*4)+(3*3)+(2*4)+(1*2)=63
63 % 10 = 3
So 3243-42-3 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

A new class of carboxylate and sulfonate esters of 1-hydroxy-2(1H)- quinolone has been demonstrated as nonionic photoacid generators (PAGs). Irradiation of carboxylates and sulfonates of 1-hydroxy-2(1H)-quinolone by UV light (γ≥310 nm) resulted in homolysis of weak N-O bond leading to efficient generation of carboxylic and sulfonic acids, respectively. The mechanism for the homolytic N-O bond cleavage was supported by time-dependent DFT calculations. Photoresponsive 1-(p-styrenesulfonyloxy)-2-quinolone-methyl methacrylate (SSQL-MMA) and 1-(p-styrenesulfonyloxy)-2-quinolone-lauryl acrylate (SSQL-LA) copolymers were synthesized from PAG monomer 1-(p-styrenesulfonyloxy) -2-quinolone, and subsequently controlled surface wettability was demonstrated for the above-mentioned photoresponsive polymers.
