H-bonded supramolecular polymers based on 1,3-bis(3-carboxypropyl) tetramethyldisiloxane and 4,4′-azopyridine, 1, or imidazole, 3, were prepared and used as ligands for Co(II) and Zn(II) ions, respectively. A re-organization of the supramolecular structures occurred by introducing the metal salts, Co(ClO4)2 × 6H2O and Zn(O2CCH3)2 × 2H2O, leading to the polyorganometallosiloxane structures 2 and 4, respectively. The compounds were investigated by elemental and spectral (1H NMR, FTIR, UV-Vis, and fluorescence) analysis as well as by X-ray single crystal diffraction. Thermal behaviour of the metallopolymers was evaluated by TGA and DSC while the moisture behaviour was studied by dynamic vapour sorption analysis (DVS). Magnetic susceptibility was determined for paramagnetic Co(II)-containing polyorganometallosiloxane. The dielectric response and ac conductivity were investigated by dielectric spectroscopy at different temperatures and frequencies.
FILM FORMING PERSONAL CARE COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS

, (2013/03/26)
Compositions, kits and methods of preparing a biocompatible film for cosmetic or medical uses are disclosed. The compositions or kits contain polyvinyl acetal (PVA), siloxane and a solvent. The siloxane can have a hydrophilic group. Once the solvent content is reduced, for instance, by evaporation, the mixture of PVA and siloxane is solidified, forming a film. The compositions and kits, optionally, further include one or more of an antimicrobial agent, a pigment, an anti-inflammatory agent, an anesthetic agent or a hemostatic agent. Such a film can be used, for example, in the form of an antimicrobial sealant, a liquid bandage, body paints, scar camouflage, water-proof sun block, makeup sealer, or antimicrobial wipe or spray.
