[1-3H]ethene, also known as tritiated ethene or tritium-labeled ethene, is a radioactive isotope of ethene (C2H4), where one of the hydrogen atoms is replaced by a tritium atom (3H). Ethene, commonly known as ethylene, is a colorless gas with a molecular formula of C2H4 and is an important industrial chemical used in the production of various polymers, such as polyethylene and polyvinyl chloride. The tritiated form of ethene is primarily used in scientific research and as a tracer in chemical reactions to study the behavior and fate of ethene in various processes. Due to the radioactive nature of tritium, [1-3H]ethene can be detected and tracked, providing valuable insights into chemical reactions and pathways.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 3508-18-7 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 3,5,0 and 8 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 1 and 8 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 3508-18:
(6*3)+(5*5)+(4*0)+(3*8)+(2*1)+(1*8)=77
77 % 10 = 7
So 3508-18-7 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Gas-phase ion-molecular reactions of free ethylsilylium ions with ethylene

Shchukin,Kochina,Sinotova,Ignat'ev

, p. 206 - 209 (2001)

Gas-phase reaction of ethylsilylium ions with ethylene was studied by the radiochemical method. The reaction occurs via excited adduct C4H11Si+ which structurally is a complex of ethylsilylium cation with ethylene. The lifetime of this complex is long enough for the isotope exchange between tritium atoms of the cation and a proton of ethylene, as well as the isomerization of ethylsilylium cation to dimethylsilylium to occur. Decomposition of the complex results in predominant formation of labeled ethylene.
