An attempt to improve the antitumoural activity of the hexaziridonocyclotriphosphazene N3P3Az6 (EORTC code name: MYKO63) is performed by preparing its methylated derivative N3P3(MeAz6) (EORTC code name MYKOMET63) which could be predicted to be more effective yet under the assumption that DNA was the target.Actually, MYKOMET63 appears to be no more active than MYKO63 on P388 and L 1210 leukemias, suggesting to look at other targets than DNA to explain the real way of action of cyclophosphazenes as antitumour agents.
