Fused Qiunoline Heterocycles V. Synthesis of Novel 1,2,3,5,6-Pentaazaaceanthrylene Derivatives

Derivatives of the 1,2,3,5,6-pentaazaaceanthrylene system have been prepared by successive pyrazole and pyrimidine ring annelations to 2,4-dichloroquinoline-3-carbonitrile. The 1,5-diphenyl-4-thioxo-1,3,4,5-tetrahydro- (7), 5-alkyl-1-phenyl-1,5-dihydro- (11a-d), and 5-benzyl-4-methyl-1-phenyl-1,5-dihydro-compounds (12) were prepared.
